Athens Friends and Newcomers
AFAN is a social organization based in Athens, Ohio that
assists new residents make friends and become better acquainted with
Athens County. Membership is open to anyone, no matter how long
they have lived in the area.
Founded in 1969, AFAN hosts a monthly meeting, special
events and has over 15 special interest groups that meet on a
regular basis. AFAN has over 180 members from Athens, The Plains,
Albany, New Marshfield, Stewart, Lancaster, and Nelsonville. AFAN
is a great way to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones.

Diagnostic Hybrids

Diagnostic HYBRIDS innovates, develops,
manufactures and markets cellular and molecular diagnostic kits
for various applications in detecting a wide range of
respiratory diseases, herpes infections, thyroid function, and
other high value markers of disease.
We will meet at their world headquarters at 1055
E. State St. in the new State Side Technology Park (the former
McBee building).
Plan to arrive at 11:00. A presentation
will be given by Dr. David Scholl, President and CEO, beginning
promptly at 11:15 and a tour of the facility will follow. Lunch,
compliments of Diagnostic Hybrids, will be catered by Village
Bakery.
Reservations need to be called in by 12 noon on
January 19 to Ellen Goldsberry at 594-3490 or Valerie Scholl at
